Dental care for dogs and cats is becoming increasingly sophisticated. The need for dental care for pets has always been great, but the equipment and training needed have improved greatly in the last 5-10 years. Pets frequently need a variety of procedures to maintain or improve their health. We offer a wide range of dental services, including the following procedures (for more information on any of these services, click the name of the procedure):
Dental prophylaxis - this is what is commonly called "teeth cleaning", but in reality, a proper dental prophylaxis involves many steps that are all important. For a complete description of what is involved in a complete dental prophylaxis, click this link.
Oral surgery - services range from extraction of infected or fractured teeth, to removal of oral tumors, periodontal surgery, and repair of oronasal fistulas
Dental digital radiography (dental x-rays) - we have a digital sensor that allows us to instantly view dental x-ray images and determine if further treatment, such as periodontal surgery or extraction of a tooth, is necessary for a patient. Without intraoral x-rays, it is literally impossible to determine if a tooth is healthy or diseased. We strongly believe that every patient that is under anesthesia for any dental procedure must have dental x-rays taken in order to provide the best possible care.
