When should I worry about fleas and ticks?

This depends very much on the weather, which as we all know can be quite unpredictable in Ohio. However, we have had quite a mild winter, and we are experiencing relatively warm temperatures already this spring, so the time is fast approaching when you should consider starting your pet on a flea preventive program.

There are several good products available that are safe and effective. Which particular product you choose depends on a number of factors, including how much time your pet spends outdoors, whether you take him camping or hiking in wooded areas, whether he/she is allergic to fleas, and many other things.
