Shannon Hertz is a Registered Veterinary Technician.

Shannon joined our practice two years ago, after
graduating from the Median School in Pittsburgh.
She did her student internship with us, and we liked her so much we hired her as soon as she graduated!
Shannon always has a smile for everyone, and is very bright and skilled. Her duties include collecting blood samples, placing IV catheters and giving injections, monitoring anesthetized patients, taking x-rays, assisting in surgery, and so many other things that the list seems endless.
Shannon recently attended the American Animal Hospital Association's annual national conference, where she took five days of continuing education courses and learned a lot of new things that will benefit our practice. Shannon would also like to ultimately specialize in veterinary dentistry or anesthesiology.
Shannon has three dogs of her own, and loves to dress them up in silly little outfits. She also enjoys spending time with her friends, shopping, cooking, watching movies, traveling, and making us laugh on those tough days.
Amanda Brestelli joined our team in the summer of 2007.

She has had experience in a busy practice in North
Carolina before returning home to Ohio.
Amanda is a veterinary assistant, and spends most of her time helping the doctors with patients in the exam rooms. She loves to educate pet owners, and especially enjoys seeing the new puppies and kittens that come for their visits.
Amanda is very pleasant, works very hard, and is always one of the first to offer to help her co-workers. She takes online courses thru the Veterinary Personnel Support Network, and loves to learn new things. She recently finished the Veterinary Medical Terminology course, and is taking a 4-part course specifically for veterinary assistants.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys knitting, spinning, beading, scrapbooking and spending time with her family. She has a dog named Jodie, two cats (Bonkers and Punk), and a new schnauzer puppy named Tucker. She also has horses, and even a goat!
Carly Burns came to us this fall from a busy practice
in West

Virginia. She is studying to be a veterinary
technician thru an online degree program offered by
San Juan College in New Mexico. She hopes to graduate and get her degree within the next year. Carly is very bright, and learns very quickly. She is quickly becoming a very important member of our team.
Carly's duties include assisting with x-rays, lab work, anesthesia and surgery, as well as dental procedures and working in the exam room with the doctors. She is very enthusiastic about educating pet owners about their pets' health.
In addition to her online degree program, Carly has recently taken classes thru the Veterinary Personnel Support Network, and attended the Central Veterinary Conference in Baltimore, Maryland in 2007.
In her spare time, Carly enjoys sewing, reading, hiking, listening to music, and playing with her dog Elvis and her cat Cash.
Kristin Lasky is from Pennsylvania.

She also joined us
this summer, and works as a veterinary assistant as well as a receptionist. Kristin graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelors degree in Animal and Veterinary Science.
Kristin is planning to attend veterinary school, and has applied to several schools, but hopes to be accepted at Colorado State University. She plans to become an equine veterinarian and work in a mixed practice in either our area, or the western United States.
Kristin is a lot of fun to work with, and always keeps us laughing. She is very bright and energetic. She will be a great veterinarian one day.
She has a cat named Cheeba, a dog named Dixie, and an Appaloosa horse named Butch. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, bowling, softball, reading, and riding motorcycles.
